OSWEGO – SUNY Oswego has extended its free application period through Monday, Nov. 9, giving first-year, transfer and graduate applicants another opportunity to apply at no cost, according to a university release.
The extension is available to students who missed SUNY’s Free Application Weeks. It applies to applications submitted through the Common Application, SUNY Application or SUNY Oswego Graduate Application Portal.
Applicants can waive the standard application fee by selecting “yes” when asked about an application fee waiver during submission. More information and application links are available at SUNY Oswego’s free application page.
Financial assistance and academic programs
The university said it awards more than $80 million annually in scholarships, grants and other financial assistance. Eligible New York state residents may qualify for the Excelsior Scholarship, which covers tuition.
Oswego’s Free Tuition Plus program combines Excelsior with institutional merit awards of up to $22,600 to help students cover expenses such as housing, meal plans and books, according to the release.
Students who submit their application and Free Application for Federal Student Aid, or FAFSA, are automatically considered for eligible institutional scholarships. No additional scholarship application is required.
SUNY Oswego offers more than 110 undergraduate and graduate programs. The university said students can participate in faculty research, internships and hands-on work in laboratories, studios and other settings, with support from faculty and advisers.
Transfer students receive credit evaluations and personalized support to build on previous coursework and work toward graduation.
Graduate students can choose from more than 40 programs in fields including business, education, communication, science, health and the arts. The university said flexible learning options and career-focused experiences are available for students seeking to advance professionally or explore new opportunities.
