OSWEGO COUNTY – SUNY Oswego’s Office of Sustainability and Rice Creek Field Station partner with the Atlantic States Legal Foundation to host a planting event on Saturday, Oct. 31 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at The Village bus loop, 7060 NYS Rte. 104, Oswego.
The “Spooky Planting” is funded by the Great Lakes Restoration Initiative, a multi-site agroforestry project aimed at planting 250 fruit-bearing and medicinal trees and shrubs around the campus of SUNY Oswego.
The plantings not only promote local food access, but also improve stormwater management, support ecologic biodiversity and resilience, and expand the college’s Centennial Arboretum.
Community members and students are all invited to participate, and costumes are welcome!
To register as a volunteer, complete this sustainability volunteer opportunity RSVP form.
