SUNY Potsdam Awards Scholarships to Area Undergraduate and Graduate Students

POTSDAM, NY — The State University of New York at Potsdam has awarded scholarships, grants and awards to 1,071 students for the 2017-18 academic year.

These accomplished SUNY Potsdam undergraduate and graduate students were recognized for their achievements with support for their educational experience.

The students include:

Maggie Balles-Clark of Phoenix, NY, who is majoring in Childhood/Early Childhood Education and was awarded the Foundation Honors Scholarship

Jeri Barber of Williamstown, NY, who is majoring in Music Business and was awarded the Rocque F. Dominick Memorial Scholarship and the SUNY Potsdam Freshman Scholarship

Alexis Bartlett of Hannibal, NY, who is majoring in Criminal Justice Studies and was awarded the SUNY Potsdam Freshman Scholarship

Victoria Brownell of Mexico, NY, who is majoring in Mathematics Middle & Secondary Education and was awarded the SUNY Potsdam Freshman Scholarship

Joshua D’Angelo of Cleveland, NY, who is majoring in Computer Science and was awarded the Alumni Promise Scholarship, Galane Family Scholarship, Leadership Scholarship and the Presidential Scholar Award

Haley Davie of Phoenix, NY, who is majoring in Exploratory / Undeclared and was awarded the SUNY Potsdam Freshman Scholarship

Ned Greenough of Fulton, NY, who is majoring in Speech Communication and was awarded the SUNY Potsdam Freshman Scholarship

Lawrence Halsey of Pulaski, NY, who is majoring in Music Performance and was awarded the SUNY Potsdam Freshman Scholarship

Nicole Hansen of Fulton, NY, who is majoring in English & Creative Writing and was awarded the Alumni Promise Scholarship, Leadership Scholarship and the Max W. Templeton Memorial Scholarship

Karlie Hilton of Pulaski, NY, who is majoring in Art Education (Dual Certification Program with St. Lawrence University) and was awarded the St. Lawrence River Patrons of the Arts/Art Scholarship

Amanda Kimball of Fulton, NY, who is majoring in Exploratory / Undeclared and was awarded the SUNY Potsdam Freshman Scholarship

Emily King of Oswego, NY, who is majoring in Music Business and was awarded the Crane Youth Music Schaberg Scholarship and the SUNY Potsdam Freshman Scholarship

Michael King of Constantia, NY, who is majoring in Music Education and was awarded the SUNY Potsdam Freshman Scholarship

Chloe Koegel of Phoenix, NY, who is majoring in Art Education (Dual Certification Program with St. Lawrence University) and was awarded the Presidential Scholar Award and the SUNY Potsdam Freshman Scholarship

Emberlin Leja of Parish, NY, who is majoring in English & Literature/Writing and was awarded the SUNY Potsdam Freshman Scholarship

Ethan Lenhart of Williamstown, NY, who is majoring in Music Performance and was awarded the Curtis S. Bailey and Irma B. Bailey Memorial Scholarship and the Crane School of Music Recruitment Scholarship

April Miller of Lacona, NY, who is majoring in Geology and was awarded the SUNY Potsdam Freshman Scholarship

Benjamin Moore of Bernhards Bay, NY, who is majoring in Music Education and was awarded the Crane School of Music Recruitment Scholarship

Nolan Ostrowski of Central Square, NY, who is majoring in Music Education and was awarded the St. Lawrence River Patrons of the Arts/Music Scholarship

Lane Perl of Fulton, NY, who is majoring in Community Health and was awarded the SUNY Potsdam Freshman Scholarship

Elizabeth Rookey of Oswego, NY, who is majoring in Psychology and was awarded the Alumni Promise Scholarship and the Leadership Scholarship

CodiAnne Salzman of Sandy Creek, NY, who is majoring in Childhood/Early Childhood Education and was awarded the SUNY Potsdam Freshman Scholarship

Kara Wade of West Monroe, NY, who is majoring in Mathematics (Bachelor of Arts/Master of Arts) and was awarded the SUNY Potsdam Freshman Scholarship

The Student Loan Report recently ranked SUNY Potsdam No. 5 in the nation in its list of the top 250 public colleges that offer upperclassmen the most financial aid.

SUNY Potsdam was also ranked No. 43 for the best financial aid offers for first-year students as well, giving the college the highest rating for any institution within the State University of New York.

The ranking is based on the 2015 Peterson’s Financial Aid Data Set.
