The search for a new superintendent of schools is well underway in the Oswego City School District.

William Silky has been coordinating the search to permanently fill the seat vacated by the retirement of David Fischer.

An on line survey was conducted by using the Oswego City School District web site and the results have been compiled and can be found on the district web site (www.oswego.org).

Silky said, “We had a large number of responses and the comments were very helpful in providing the traits that are desired in a new superintendent.”

Six committees consisting of students, parents, community members, teachers, support staff and administrators have met with Silky. Those groups also provided a list of traits that are desired in a superintendent of schools.

After meeting with the committees and having the results of the on line survey Silky met with board members to seek their thoughts on a candidates requirements. On Wednesday, September 24 Silky will meet with all of the committees and that evening the Board of Education will meet with the consultant as they prepare the next step in the search process.

The deadline for applications is September 26 with the Board of Education and committees scheduled to conduct finalists interviews in early October. missing or outdated ad config
