Take a Hike June 1 on National Trails Day

OSWEGO COUNTY – The Oswego County Healthy Miles coalition has organized several events to encourage people to be physically active and enjoy the area’s natural beauty on National Trails Day, Saturday, June 1.

Hiking activities will be from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Great Bear Recreation Area, 3.6 miles south of Fulton on Rte. 57; Oswego YMCA, 249 W. First St.; Pulaski Village Park (11 a.m. to 1 p.m.) State Route 11; and Village of Central Square on the Oswego County Recreation Trail.

Participating organizations include Oswego County Opportunities, ARISE, the Oswego County Health Department, Friends of Great Bear, Oswego YMCA, villages of Pulaski and Central Square, Cornell Cooperative Extension of Oswego County, and Oswego County 4-H Program.

National Trails Day is organized by the American Hiking Society to encourage people to use public hiking trails across the U.S.
