OSWEGO — The Gardens by MorningStar is pleased to announce the launch of a monthly grief support group open to all community members. The group will meet on the last Thursday of each month, with the first gathering scheduled for Thursday, July 30 at 6:30 PM at The Gardens by MorningStar, located at 132 Ellen Street.
This counselor-facilitated group will be led by Cory Brosch, LMHC-D, a Licensed Mental Health Counselor with extensive experience in both private practice and college counseling settings. Cory is certified in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Mindfulness-Based Ecotherapy, and brings a compassionate, whole-person approach to healing. For the past nine years, she has facilitated a grief and loss support group through SUNY Oswego Counseling Services, helping individuals navigate the complex emotions that accompany loss.
“Grief is a natural response to love,” says Brosch. “Healing is fostered through connection, reflection, and shared experiences.”
The monthly grief support group offers a welcoming and confidential space for adults who are grieving the loss of a loved one. Participants are encouraged to share their experiences, listen to others, and learn healthy coping strategies in a supportive environment. Attendees may participate at their own comfort level, whether by sharing or simply listening.
Whether the loss is recent or occurred years ago, all are welcome. There is no “right” way to grieve—this group honors each individual’s unique journey while offering hope, connection, and the understanding that healing has no set timeline.
Community members interested in attending are invited to join this supportive gathering and take part in a shared path toward healing.
