Fulton, NY — Oswego Industries, Inc., a leader in providing employment and vocational opportunities for individuals with disabilities, has received a $5,000 grant from The Gifford Foundation to support its Community-Based Pre-Vocational Training program. This initiative equips participants with the skills, confidence, and real-world experience needed to prepare for and succeed in competitive employment.
The Community-Based Pre-Vocational Training program connects individuals with local businesses, organizations, and community resources, allowing them to explore different career paths while developing essential workplace skills such as communication, teamwork, time management, and problem-solving.
“The Gifford Foundation’s generosity helps us expand opportunities for people with disabilities to learn in real-world environments,” said Su-Ann Howard, Employment Services Manager at Oswego Industries, Inc. “When our participants can practice their skills directly in the community, they build confidence, independence, and a stronger connection to the workforce.
