OSWEGO, NY – The Oswego City Band presents “Independence Day: Made in America” at Breitbeck Park on July 4 at 7:30 p.m.
The ensemble will be performing a wide variety of styles appropriate for all ages and musical tastes.
Join the group and celebrate the Fourth of July with selections including Stars and Stripes Forever and America the Beautiful.
The program will feature Bernstein’s American musical classic Westside Story and American Broadway favorite Phantom of the Opera. Music by famous American composers Charles Ives, Aaron Copland, Samuel Barber, Frank Ticheli and George Gershwin’s An American in Paris will also be highlighted.
And of course, no city band concert would be complete without a couple of popular marches and pop tunes-selected from a list of favorites programmed by former director and founder “Slim” Gross.
