The Salvation Army of Oswego Kicks Off 2026 Guest Chef Dinner Season with Historic Milestones and a Fan-Favorite Partner

OSWEGO — The Salvation Army of Oswego is proud to announce the return of its beloved Guest Chef Dinner Series for 2026, a community tradition that continues to bring people together over great food for an even greater cause. This year’s series is especially meaningful as The Salvation Army celebrates 140 years of service to the Oswego community & County.

The first dinner of the season will take place on Tuesday, March 10, 2026, marking the 109th Guest Chef Dinnersince the program began in 2007. Kicking off the season in exciting fashion is Rudy’s Drive-In, an Oswego icon celebrating 80 years of business. Rudy’s is also excited to announce that they will be opening for the season at the end of March and are thrilled to partner with The Salvation Army through this special Guest Chef Dinner.

“We are incredibly grateful to Rudy’s Drive-In for partnering with us to launch our 2026 season,” said Lieutenant Michael Dow. “It’s special to celebrate an organization such as The Salvation Army and a Restaurant such as Rudy’s that have served Oswego for generations, coming together to support our amazing community.”

Beginning with the March 10 dinner, the cost per meal will be $15, an increase from the previous $12 price. Additionally, discounted meal tickets will not be offered during the 2026 season.

The March 10 dinner will feature a classic and crowd-pleasing menu of Texas Hots, salt potatoes, and coleslaw. For this dinner only, guests may purchase optional add-ons at an additional cost such as Clams for $4 and Fish Pieces for $7. Guests can purchase just a $15 meal or can choose one or both add-ons. Additionally, guests can purchase a meal and both add-ons as well.

Dinner will be served from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM, or until sold out. Guests may choose to dine in at The Salvation Army dining room or take meals to go. All Guest Chef Dinners are hosted at The Salvation Army of Oswego, 73 West 2nd Street, Oswego, NY 13126.

The Guest Chef Dinners are organized by the Advisory Board of The Salvation Army of Oswego and are offered to the community to raise critical funds that support local services, including the weekly Community Lunch, Food Pantry, and Youth Enrichment Services, among others.

Since the program’s inception, the impact has been significant. By the end of 2025, The Salvation Army of Oswego has hosted 108 Guest Chef Dinners, served 9,840 meals, and raised over $122,000 to support vital programs serving Oswego County.

As The Salvation Army reflects on 140 years of service, the 2026 Guest Chef Dinner Series stands as both a celebration of the past and a continued investment in the future of the Oswego community.
