OSWEGO, NY – Sixth grade students at Leighton Elementary School in Oswego are enjoying a retrospective art display, thanks to their art teacher, Michele Gorham.

Gorham has been saving student portraits that were created since kindergarten, and the artwork is now being paired with their present day portraits.
According to Gorham, every other Thursday, she unveils another grade level portrait.
She said she started with their life-sized kindergarten portrait and continues to add to the “Throwback Thursday” art display.
“The reactions have been priceless,” said Gorham. “The students have really enjoyed taking a walk down memory lane and seeing how much they have grown.”
March is Youth Art Month, so the school is spending the entire month celebrating young artists with a variety of activities and events, including the portrait displays.
