Tournament Of Roses Bound Garrett Robinson ‘Musician Of The Month’

OSWEGO, NY – Garrett Robinson is bound for the Tournament of Roses Parade in Pasadena, Calif., and has been named the “Musician of the Month.”

He is currently principal percussionist in the Oswego High School Wind Ensemble and set drummer for Jazz Ensemble A.

He has been a member of the Marching Buccaneers’ drum line for five years.

Garrett also participated in the OHS Winter Drum Line.

He has also earned positions in the Oswego County Music Educators Band and Orchestra.

The OHS senior was recently selected by Bands of America for the national Honor Band in the 2009 Tournament of Roses Parade.

The Honor Band is a 300-piece national ensemble with winds, percussion and a flag and a dance team.

Garrett was selected from among hundreds of applicants across the nation for membership in this prestigious honors ensemble.

“To be selected for this unique opportunity is a once-in-a-lifetime experience for these students,” said Scott McCormick, Music for All President and CEO. “The Tournament of Roses Parade is one of our country’s national pageantry treasures and the 2009 Honors Band members will be ambassadors of American’s bands and of their states and communities.”
