Oswego resident Amy M. Tresidder announces her candidacy for Oswego County Legislator in the 16th District.

“I believe it is time for an open and balanced government committed to serving the citizens of Oswego County. This is such a beautiful place to live and to work and I’m hearing from people that they want to be able to stay in the area and in their homes and it has become more and more difficult to do so. Jobs are scarce and taxes are high. Sadly, our young people are moving away to find employment and our retirees can’t afford to stay. It’s time for a change; it’s time for some new ideas. I know I’m ready to see it and I’m pretty sure I’m not the only one.”

Tresidder is a 30-year resident of Oswego and was employed at the Retired and Senior Volunteer Program for eight years. She is active in the community serving on the Board of Directors of Friends of History in Fulton, Rice Creek Associates, the Office for the Aging, the Association of Business and Professional Women of Oswego and the City of Oswego Zoning Board of Appeals. While raising her family, Tresidder was an active volunteer with the school district and has volunteered as an accredited La Leche League leader for over 20 years.

Tresidder lives on Fifth Ave. with her husband Ernie. They have five children and two grandchildren. She looks forward to meeting and talking with the citizens of the 16th district regarding their concerns.
