OSWEGO –
Tributes to three of the biggest classic hits acts will anchor three of the four nights of top quality entertainment at the 2023 edition of Harborfest. The party begins Thursday, July 27 after the opening ceremonies on the Breitbeck Park stage, with the New York Bee Gees, continues Saturday after the Pathfinder Bank-sponsored fireworks with BONFIRE – A Tribute to AC/DC, and wraps up the festival Sunday afternoon with Gold Dust Woman – a Tribute to Stevie Nicks and Fleetwood Mac. All performances are free of charge and exact performance times are to be announced.
“We’re ‘Thunderstruck’ that we can bring these great shows to Harborfest this year. When you come, don’t bother sitting down because ‘You Should Be Dancing.’ In fact, these shows are ‘Dreams’ come true for music fans,” said Dan Harrington, Executive Director.
The New York Bee Gees, performing at 8:30 p.m. at Breitbeck Park, describes itself as offering “all of the classic 70’s disco hits from ‘Stayin’ Alive’ to ‘Night Fever’ while embracing their early works such as ‘To Love Somebody,’ ‘I’ve Got To Get A Message To You’ and ‘Massachusetts.’ The New York Bee Gees deliver songs from every decade of the Bee Gees catalog with stunning production, powerful vocals and the professional stage presence.” The New York Bee Gees performance is sponsored by Eagle Beverage.
BONFIRE – A Tribute to AC/DC takes the stage at approximately 10 p.m. Saturday, after Harborfest’s famous fireworks show. According to the band, “BONFIRE delivers a high-energy show that brings people in from all over to relive the massively successful career of AC/DC’s music and live show—and they always return for more! Playing the very best of both the Bon Scott and Brian Johnson eras, BONFIRE delivers the true sounds of AC/DC and a total visual experience, with authentic AC/DC instruments and the right amplification for authentic tonal sonic quality.” BONFIRE – A Tribute to AC/DC’s performance is sponsored by Harbor Eye Associates.
Gold Dust Woman – A Tribute to Stevie Nicks and Fleetwood Mac wraps up the concert season at Breitbeck starting at 5:45 p.m. Sunday. The band describes itself as taking “audiences into the four-plus decades of the timeless solo career of rock n’ roll’s mystic poet and two time Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductee, along with the classic songs of Fleetwood Mac. Supported by an amazingly accomplished group of seasoned musicians, when Janet Soluri steps onto the stage, she transforms the true, magical essence of the Gypsy Queen that is Stevie.” Gold Dust Woman’s performance is sponsored by Burke’s Do It Best Home Center.
A national touring headline show for Friday night will be announced soon. Lineups for the stages at East Park and River Walk West will also be announced soon.
