United Methodist Church Observe Holy Week

The congregations of the State Street United Methodist and the Fulton First United Methodist Churches invite the community to the observance of Holy Week services. Rev. Joseph Kim, the Pastor at the State Street UMC states, “the Holy Thursday and Good Friday observances are intimate times for believers to walk with Jesus through the last supper and his crucifixion as we prepare for the Easter celebration.”

The Holy week observance begins on Thursday, April 1st @ 7:00pm at the State Street UMC, 357 State Street, Fulton, where the sacrament of Holy Communion will be shared as “we gather to remember the Last Supper Jesus shared with his disciples before he was crucified”, Rev. Kim continued.

The following evening, April 2nd @ 7:00pm at the Fulton First UMC, 1408 State Route 176 across from the Fulton Junior High school, the observance of Good Friday will be shared. “This will involve a unique perspective of seeing the crucifixion through the eyes of Mary, the Mother of Jesus, scripture and most importantly, ourselves”, says Rev. Mark Kimpland the Pastor of The 1st UMC.

“Our hope is that as we gather during this “holy week, that this might be a true ecumenical time of worship where believers and seekers might take this journey together, with Jesus, to the cross”, Rev. Kimpland concluded.
