FULTON, NY – If your resolution in 2011 is to be healthier and in better shape then it’s time to take the United Way’s 60 Minute Challenge!
In keeping with the theme of this year’s United Way campaign, promoting wellness and creating a healthier community, the United Way invites you to join them for their first ever 60 Minute Challenge.
Working in collaboration with the Fulton and Oswego YMCAs and Stability Fitness in Oswego, the United Way is offering community members the opportunity to participate in the 60 Minute Challenge.
Scheduled for Feb. 5, the challenge is an indoor event that will have participants using treadmills and stationary bikes as they run for 30 minutes and cycle for 30 minutes.
According to Lois Luber, resource development director for the United Way, the event isn’t a competition but a fun way to challenge yourself and your fitness level.
“The 60 Minute Challenge is good for people of all ages and all fitness levels. It doesn’t matter if you’ve just started exercising as a New Year’s resolution or if you’ve been exercising regularly for years. It’s going to be a fun event that will help promote wellness in our community. We are hoping to see all three locations filled with participants and I encourage companies and organizations to join us for a fun day and enter a team,” she said.
Those interested in participating may register at the location of their choice: The Fulton YMCA, Route 3 in Fulton, The Oswego YMCA, West First Street in Oswego, and Stability Fitness, East Second Street in Oswego.
Start times are between 8 and 10 a.m.
Registration fee is only $25 per person.
Those registering before Jan. 27 will receive a complimentary long-sleeved T-shirt.
