The award is named in honor of an outstanding volunteer who demonstrated amazing dedication, devotion, and love for her community and the United Way of Greater Oswego County.

“When the United Way asked the employees of Wal-Mart for help distributing books during Fulton’s Memorial Day Parade a partnership was created. Their support has since grown to many of our events and projects. More than 175 volunteer hours by as many as 50 employees was logged,” said Jonathan Daniels, chair of the United Way of Greater Oswego County’s Campaign Cabinet.

“Much like the woman whom the award is named after, the employees at the Wal-Mart Supercenter in Fulton are very thoughtful, caring individuals who are always willing to help our organization any way they can,” added Melanie Trexler, executive director of the United Way. “Their spirit of caring and volunteerism is greatly appreciated.”
