Valley News Receives United Way Media Award

OSWEGO, NY – The United Way of Greater Oswego County recognized The Valley News with the Media Award at its annual meeting held March 17 at the American Foundry.

The award is presented annually for outstanding support and media coverage of the United Way.

“As a non-profit organization, the United Way relies on our local media to help us spread the word about the good that we do for our Oswego County,” said executive director of the United Way, Melanie Trexler. “The cooperation that we receive from all of our local media is outstanding.  We appreciate that support and recognize the important role it plays in the success of our organization. The Valley News is an important source for local news not only in Fulton, but in the surrounding area as well.  The Valley News does an excellent job in keeping their readers informed on what’s happening in their community and what the United Way is doing to help improve the quality of life throughout Oswego County. We greatly the support we have received from Vince and Ron Caravan and everyone at The Valley News.”

“It is an honor and a privilege to accept this award, said Vince Caravan. “Although we are now retired, we will certainly be with the United Way in spirit. It has been a pleasure to have been able to serve the United Way in the best way we could through publicity and we wish the United Way good luck in the future.”
