VOLNEY – Responsibility awards were given to Volney Elementary students who displayed the character trait for the month of October at a recent “Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports” assembly.

Library media specialist Sarah Fay and music/band teacher Carrie Foster started the afternoon off with a song displaying previous character trait months (perseverance and effort) called “The Cat Came Back,” by Bill Slavin.
“I have sung this story with every student in the whole entire school,” said Foster, “And today, we are going to sing it together.”
The entire auditorium joined in song.
Later, Principal Lisa Garofalo called each student up to congratulate them for exhibiting excellent responsibility for the month of October.
