Select students at Volney Elementary School were recently named by the teachers to be role models after displaying this month’s character education trait of perseverance.

During a recent assembly, Principal Lisa Garafola handed a certificate to each winning student, and congratulated them for persevering through the month of March.
“We have been talking a lot about perseverance and have been sharing some really good stories about perseverance,” Garafola reminded the students. “And perseverance means to keep on working and keep on trying.”
The monthly “On-a-roll” models were also announced for their outstanding effort and improvement during the month of March.
In all, more than 30 students were selected for the two awards, showcasing the positive learning environment displayed throughout the school.
