FULTON, NY – The Literacy Coalition of Oswego County’s annual Children’s Book Drive received some welcome support recently when the Wal-Mart Super Center, Route 3 in Granby, announced that it would be hosting a book drive on April 27 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Wal-Mart employees will be accepting donations of new and gently used books with titles of interest to toddlers through teens.
The Literacy Coalition of Oswego County will distribute the books to youth during the Fulton Memorial Day parade and the Oswego Independence Day parade.
“We truly appreciate the support that we receive from the volunteer team at the Granby Wal-Mart,” said Melanie Trexler, executive director, United Way of Greater Oswego County and member of the Literacy Coalition. “Over the years they have contributed countless hours of their time for a variety of community projects and have helped distribute books during past parades. They are an enthusiastic group who we are proud to count amongst our volunteers.”
Comprised of more than 36 local organizations, the Literacy Coalition of Oswego County is focused on improving literacy in Oswego County by addressing literacy needs of people of all ages.
