Wal-Mart Rewards Program Contributes To CER Students

Charles E. Riley Elementary School teachers were recognized by Wal-Mart as part of the “Teacher Rewards Program.” Wal-Mart representatives visited the school to make the presentation. OSWEGO, NY – Charles E. Riley Elementary School teachers and students benefited from a recent presentation from Wal-Mart.

In the past the Oswego Wal-Mart store has made generous donations to the Oswego City School District and has stepped up once again to assist.

Store manager Susan Palmer was joined by zone supervisor Mary Hall and community coordinator Jill Allen in recognizing ten Charles E. Riley Elementary School teachers.

Palmer explained that, “Wal-Mart is helping these teachers to purchase much needed classroom supplies” though the “Teacher Rewards Program.”

Each teacher received a $100 Teacher Reward Card at the ceremony held for students and staff as the eastside Oswego school.

Principal Mary Beth Fierro explained to the students that the recognition of teachers would benefit many classrooms throughout the school.

She explained to the youngsters that this award for $1,000 would benefit the school and students.

Teachers being honored by Wal-Mart representatives included librarian Becky Woods, universal Pre-K teacher Carolyn House along with teachers Jen Heagerty, Terri Cullen-Stacy, Patty Tyrie, Cherie Beck, Diana Proano, Pat Delia, Kate McCrobie and Tracy Warner.
