“Whiskey & Wisdom” Virtual Whiskey Tasting To Support OCC Students

SYRACUSE, NY – The OCC Foundation will host a virtual fundraiser, “Whiskey & Wisdom,” to benefit the financial needs of Onondaga Community College students through the OCC Foundation.

The event will be held Friday, February 26 from 6 to 9 p.m..

“Whiskey & Wisdom” is presented by Kitty Hoynes Irish Pub and Restaurant and Dining Inside and Out. Featured whiskeys include:

  • FLX Distillers McKenzie Rye
  • Lock 1 Distilling Co Inferno 1010 Cinnamon Whiskey
  • Old Home Distillers Bourbon
  • Redbreast 12 Year
  • Bushmills Single Malt 16 Year

Distillers will participate virtually, share information about each beverage, and answer questions.

Participants will have the opportunity to pair their whiskey with cheese or charcuterie boxes from Kitty Hoynes, a dessert box from The Sweet Praxis, or a chocolate box from Speach Family Candy Shoppe. Whiskey & Wisdom also includes food options such as braised beef sliders, coffee cured hot smoked salmon with goat cheese, and chocolate mole meatballs with carmelized onions.

Whiskey & Wisdom will be hosted by radio station TK-99’s Gomez Adams who is a 2016 alumnus of OCC. Event prices range from $20 to $99. Sponsorships are available. Tickets can be purchased at https://www.sunyocc.edu/whiskeywisdom.

The OCC Foundation is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization whose mission is to raise, invest, and administer funds on behalf of Onondaga Community College and its students. Founded in 1980 and governed by a 25-member Board of Directors, the OCC Foundation annually distributes more than $800,000 in charitable gifts in support of student scholarships, student and academic support, faculty and staff professional development, and student emergency funds. In 2020, the OCC Foundation launched the Lazer Response Fund that to date has raised nearly $100,000 to support students impacted by the COVID-19 Global Pandemic.
