On Saturday September 27th the American Red Cross will be holding its third annual Bridges to Caring Walk.  This years event includes several pieces that all come together to add up to a fun-filled day for people of all ages.  The event begins at the Fulton Price Chopper Store and consists of a loop around the bridges of Fulton.  Walkers can choose to walk one trip around for a 1.5 mile walk or twice around for 3 miles.  This year the Red Cross has a Rewards Program that allows walkers to collect pledges and earn rewards for various donation levels.  There is a Coloring Contest, sponsored by Pathfinder Bank, for kids which can be accessed at the chapter website www.syrarc.org .  Copies of the Contest can also be picked up at the Pathfinder Bank in Fulton or the Red Cross office at 333 West First Street in Oswego.

Dennis Dundon, Area Manager – Operations for Windstream announced on Thursday that with Windstream as a premier sponsor, the Bridges to Caring Walk has been included in the Windstream 2008 Green Truck Tour.  The Green Truck Tour travels throughout the country and in 2008 will make 90 stops in 14 different states, donating over $200,000 to local communities. The green truck is a refurbished 1953 pick up truck painted Windstream green with yellow and orange flames on the side.  The flames represent the company’s broadband internet speed.  For more information on the green truck and its visit to Fulton you can check out the Windstream website at www.windstream.com.  The stop in Fulton this year will bring not only the truck but also prizes, activities and giveaways from Windstream.

Other activities this year include a special raffle for all pre-registrants, t-shirt giveaways and other events.  For more information on the Walk or a registration brochure please call the American Red Cross at 343-0967 or stop by the newly relocated office at 333 West First Street in Oswego.  “Support the Red Cross and Change a Life, starting with your own.”
