Workforce Development Board; 4th Annual Youth Employment Summit

On Friday, Oct. 10, the Workforce Development Board of Oswego County will host the 4th  Annual Youth Employment Summit at SUNY Oswego. The Summit brings together Oswego County High School juniors and seniors to explore the possibilities of careers and employment in the County.

Students from all nine districts and BOCES have participated in the past and, and this year the event held in Lanigan Hall from 9:00am to 1:00pm will feature a wide variety of topics. Some of the presentations will be on careers in the law enforcement and fire service, trade union apprenticeships, college life, panel discussions with youth and employers and local human resource professionals and career possibilities.

Additionally, the Summit will feature session introducing the Oswego County Career Ladder Map website (www.oswegocareerladders.com), during which students will be eligible to win prizes while learning about careers available in Oswego county industries that include, manufacturing, health care, energy production and hospitality and leisure.

This year’s event is made possible by the financial support of Eastern Shore Associates, Oswego County Federal Credit Union, and Huhtamaki Packaging.
