Youth To Take Part In Health, Wellness Event

SYRACUSE – On January 13, Reality Check youth and members of the Tobacco Free Network of CNY will participate in the Syracuse Crunch Health and Wellness night from 6 to 8 p.m. at 515 Montgomery St., Syracuse.

The event serves to educate members of the community about the various health resources that exist within Onondaga County and the surrounding region.

Tobacco companies are spending billions to put their products in front of kids in stores.

And the more kids see tobacco, the more likely they are to start smoking.

Stores located near schools contain nearly three times the amount of tobacco advertisements.

This is why it is so important to educate youth about the dangers of tobacco and give them an outlet to voice their concerns.

This is just one of the many events Reality Check youth participate in, both county and state wide.

Reality Check is always looking for new members between the ages of 13 and 18.

Applications can be found on icpoc.org or by contacting Kathleen Knopp at [email protected] or by phone at 315-343-2344, ext. 23.

To reach the Tobacco Free Network of CNY, please call 315-343-2344 ext. 10.
