POTSDAM, NY – The Crane Opera Ensemble will present a pair of “angelic” one-act operas this spring, with performances on April 11 and 12 at 7:30 p.m. in the Sara M. Snell Music Theater at SUNY Potsdam’s Crane School of Music.
The award-winning Crane Opera Ensemble will perform the tragic yet lyric “Suor Angelica,” with music by Giacomo Puccini, followed by the satirical and off-beat “Angelique” by Jacques Ibert.
The cast and crew includes Katrina Sheats of Pulaski who plays a Lay Sister in “Suor Angelica” and a Nosey Neighbor in “Angelique.”
The Crane Opera Ensemble has twice been named the first place winner of the American Prize in Operatic Performance, and has placed second in the National Opera Association’s Collegiate Production Competition.
