OSWEGO, NY – Recently, Theresa Kline and Mary J. Simard, Oswego AmeriCorps volunteers, organized Diapers for Darlings.
The community baby shower was held at Catholic Charities on May 20.

“By ‘shower,’ I mean we are asking for donations of formula, diapers and wipes to help aid needy families who cannot afford these items and often come to utilize the food pantry services,” Kline explained.
Several businesses and agencies donated diapers, baby wipes and formula and other items to the cause, she added.
All donations will benefit families through the Emergency Services Department at Catholic Charities of Oswego County.
AmeriCorps is a program of the Corporation for National and Community Service, which improves lives, strengthens communities and fosters civic engagement through service and volunteering.
“All the stuff is being donated to Catholic Charities Emergency Services which helps needy families in the community,” Kline said. “We would like to thank everyone in general who donated products and Women in Nuclear Power, a group that fundraisers for non-for-profit organizations in the community.”
