OSWEGO, NY – Oswego Hospital recently welcomed Wajeeh Sana, MD, as Medical Director of Emergency Services.
Dr. Sana attended medical school in Pakistan and completed his family medicine residency at St. Vincent’s Mercy Medical Center in Toledo, where he served as chief resident.
During his residency, he was presented the Thomas Clever MD Award for providing comprehensive and compassionate care to patients.
He has been providing physician care in the hospital emergency’s department since 2012.
In his new role, among his immediate goals is to reduce patient wait times and ensure that each patient has an excellent customer service experience.
Dr. Sana arrives at Oswego Hospital with management experience, as he previously served as the medical director for Cayuga Emergency Physicians.
He has also worked for Life Time Health Medial Group’s urgent care center in Rochester.
Oswego Hospital’s emergency department is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
The department features a comfortable waiting room, private treatment rooms with televisions, two trauma bays that have the latest technology and a central cardiac system that allows staff to monitor the heart rhythms of up to 17 patients.
In 2014, the department provided care to 25,600 visitors.
