Election Inspectors Needed for Primary and General Elections

OSWEGO, NY –     The Oswego County Board of Elections is looking for registered voters who would like to serve as election inspectors for the 2012 primary and general elections.

Inspectors are needed at various polling sites around the county.

The position pays $110 for the primary election and $160 for the general election.

Inspectors are paid $30 to complete a training program.

Inspectors must be available to work the entire shift from noon to 9:30 p.m. for the primary election and from 5:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. on election day, Nov. 6.

To qualify, residents must be registered as either a Republican or Democrat voter, attend a training program, and pass the required certification.

Election commissioners Richard Atkins and Donald Wart said being an election inspector is the perfect opportunity to meet and greet friends and neighbors while performing a worthwhile service to the community.
