Entergy, long-time sponsor of the spectacular Grucci pyrotechnics,  has confirmed that it is continuing the Oswego Harborfest tradition for not only one year, but a two-year commitment.

Oswego Harborfest Executive Director Pete Myles said, “This is my first year as the executive director, but for me one of the highlights which has attracted my entire family are the Entergy sponsored Grucci family fireworks. I am excited to be able to announce that they will be back with us for 2016 and am really looking forward to what will be another spectacular and much talked about event.”

Myles said that the two-year commitment to the fireworks sponsorship is very important.

“Knowing now that the 30th celebration in 2017 has the fireworks already scheduled and confirmed allows us to move forward to create a memorable and exciting festival,”he said.

“We are extremely excited for the continued support of Entergy for the 29th edition of Oswego Harborfest. Not only does Entergy support us with the finances of putting on a world class Grucci family pyrotechnic display, but the behind-the-scenes efforts to make this show possible through the dedicated efforts of unsung Entergy employees who assist in making this show become a reality,” he added.

Many Entergy employees volunteer to be part of the festival and assist in support of constructing the massive infrastructure that is necessary to make the Grucci fireworks spectacular a reality.

The 29th edition of Oswego Harborfest will commence on July 28 with nationally known talent and continue through July 31.

Music, arts and crafts, a wide variety of foods, vendors of all types, as well as an exciting, interactive children’s park are just some of the attractions which draw thousands of festival attendees each and every year.

  1. Entergy will remain a company in Oswego for decades to come as they will be choosing the SafeStor option for decommissioning. They will have a smaller # of employees there for years. I would expect that they would continue to contribute to the community.
