Entergy Nuclear Fireworks Spectacular To Light Up Harborfest

OSWEGO, NY – As it has for the past 21 years, Oswego Harbor will bathe in the glow of a dazzling fireworks display as the Entergy Nuclear Fireworks Spectacular lights up the sky on Saturday evening during Harborfest.

Sponsored by Entergy Nuclear, owner-operator of the 855 MW James A. FitzPatrick Nuclear Station in Scriba, the Entergy Nuclear Fireworks Spectacular featuring fireworks by Grucci continues to be the highlight of Harborfest.

“Every year the Entergy Nuclear Fireworks Spectacular is the centerpiece of Harborfest, and this year is no exception,” said Tom Van Schaack, executive director of Harborfest. “Our fireworks show has drawn national attention and received numerous awards throughout its history. We appreciate Entergy Nuclear’s continued support of Harborfest and the Saturday night Fireworks Spectacular by Grucci.”

The nearly half-hour Entergy Nuclear Fireworks Spectacular is the only world-class fireworks exhibition in upstate New York and demonstrates the highest level of pyrotechnic artistry as thousand of shells and “ground effects” are choreographed to a carefully selected music track.

Produced by Fireworks by Grucci, the Entergy Nuclear Fireworks Spectacular is a very special event that draws an estimated audience of more than 100,000 people to the shores of Lake Ontario each year.

Fireworks by Grucci is an award- winning Long Island-b Based company known for its complex and exciting shows.

In addition to Harborfest, they have produced fireworks displays for six presidential inaugurations, the Statue of Liberty Centennial, the Brooklyn Bridge Centennial, the Lake Placid Olympic Games, the Los Angeles Olympic Games, the Salt Lake City Olympic Games, the Olympic Games in Greece and several world fairs.

The Entergy Nuclear Fireworks Spectacular at Harborfest 2009 will blast off at 9:30 p.m. on July 25 and tune into TK 105.5 FM as the music-track will again be simulcast on radio.

Come early to enjoy everything Harborfest has to offer and get to find a good spot for watching the fireworks.

Best viewing is along the harbor area in the city from Fort Ontario on the east to Breitbeck Park on the west.
