‘Nuncrackers,’ The Christmas Musical

OSWEGO, NY – The Oswego Players are busily rehearsing “Nuncrackers” the Christmas Musical.

This is the fourth in the series of popular “Nunsense” shows written by Daniel Groggin.

The show is being directed by Inez Manor Parker and is a must-see for the holiday season.

Abel Searer assists as musical director and Laurel Artz will choreograph.

“Nuncrackers” is billed as the first televised Christmas concert put on by the Little Sisters of Hoboken and broadcast before a live audience by WCON-TV, the cable access station built by the Mother Superior after winning the lottery.

Speaking of the role of Mother Superior, Rue McClanahan, of “Golden Girls” fame, played the part in all four of the “Nunsense” shows on Broadway.

This show will be aired from the Frances Marion Brown stage in the Oswego Arts Center building in the Fort Ontario complex.

This extremely funny comedy is full of song, dance and frivolity.

Hear your favorite carols, however, the lyrics may not necessarily ring a bell.

Director Parker tells me there is a scene about “Sister Julia…Child of God that is a killer.”

As they say all the time on TV, “very funny.”

With the world in the mess it’s in this holiday season, “Nuncrackers” will provide us all with a couple of hours of much needed comic relief.

Show dates and times are Dec. 3, 4, 10 and 11 at 8 p.m., with a matinee on Dec. 12 at 2 p.m.

All tickets for this musical offering will be $10.

Reservations will be accepted at The Players Box Office (315) 343-5138. missing or outdated ad config
