Part of the college’s Ke-Nekt Chamber Music Series, Yorke’s recital is scheduled to begin with a pre-concert talk at 7 p.m.

Yorke’s international reputation as a vocal coach and consultant developed from her role as a pianist in close collaboration with top-level singers.

Her most enduring partnership was with opera singer and soprano Renée Fleming, performing as her exclusive recital pianist for more than a decade of concerts around the globe.

After renowned conductor and pianist André Previn saw Yorke accompany Fleming at Tanglewood, he wrote, “I found Miss Yorke to be a first-rate musician and I would recommend her to any of my colleagues.”

Hosted by SUNY Oswego music department faculty member Mihoko Tsutsumi, Yorke plans to offer an engaging program of solo piano literature.

She trained as a recital pianist and accompanist at the Royal Northern College of Music and the Royal Academy of Music in the United Kingdom. This was followed by a period of study with mentor Hartmut Höll in Frankfurt and Köln.

Currently, Yorke serves as a vocal coach at Birmingham University and teaches piano at Imperial College in London.

Tickets for Yorke’s performance are $15 ($5 for SUNY Oswego students), available at the college’s box offices, online at tickets.oswego.edu or by calling 315-312-2141.
