Canale’s and Oswego Players the Perfect Pairing.

Mama Canale (Tammy Thompson) chastises owner Nick Canale between courses.
OSWEGO – Canale’s Restaurant and the Oswego Players recently partnered up for a special menu of classic Italian dishes and locally-sourced lighthearted comedies. CHEF’S KISS was the first in a series of dinner theaters between the pairing that features plays written by members of our community. “Candy” by Sarah Galvin, “Something Blue” by Adam Sweeney, and “Mr. California Teen” by Nicholas Gentile were selected as part of the inaugural performance.

Mama Canale (Tammy Thompson) laments over the number of dishes she must cook.

“The event was a smashing success from our perspective,” says owner Nick Canale. “The Players were wonderful to work with, focused on their goals but flexible with how to get there, knowledgeable and accommodating with scheduling and logistics and over the top entertaining the night of the show.”

The event also proved highly anticipated, with ticket sales smashing both Canale’s and Oswego Player records. Due to the demand, Raby’s Ace Home Center hosted an online raffle where four tickets were gifted to a lucky winner.

“The show sold out in 36 hours!” says Canale, “That is a record for any event for us. The customers seemed very pleased with the whole event. We would be thrilled to work with The Players again in the future.”
