Casting is Complete for The Oswego Players’ Presentation of the horror classic “Frankenstein†The show features a cast of Oswego Players regulars including Scott Bandla, Jennie Snow, Jon Altman, Sharon Darrow, Norman Berlin III, Emily Gray, and Nicole Snow along with new comers Joe Calverase and Lauren Pepper.
The play “Frankenstein†is based on the Mary Shelly Book of the same name. Published in 1831 the title of the novel refers to a scientist, Victor Frankenstein, who learns how to create life and creates a being in the likeness of man, but larger than average and more powerful. In popular culture, people have tended incorrectly to refer to the monster as “Frankenstein”. The story has often been interpreted as a warning against the expansion of science into the realm of the divine due to its pointed, if gruesome, focus on playing God by creating life from dead flesh.
Troy Pepper will direct this production which is slated to be presented on October 30 and 31, and November 6 and 7 at 8 p.m. and November 8 at 2 p.m. All performances will be held at the Frances Marion Brown Theater, in Oswego. .
