Cayuga CC’s Upcoming Fall Music Concerts to Support Local Pantry

Start the holiday season off right, with a door buster special at Cayuga Community College. Donate a non-perishable food item in exchange for an evening of entertainment, as the Music Department hosts two concerts on December 8 and 9 in the Irene A. Bisgrove Community Theatre, 197 Franklin St., Auburn.

The first concert will feature the College Jazz Band, under the direction of Michael Cortese and College Vocal Jazz Ensemble, under the direction of Amy Bellamy and accompanied by Will Tobin. Both groups will perform a diverse group of jazz standards. The concert begins at 7 p.m.

The next evening, Friday, December 9, the College Chorus, under the direction of Bellamy and accompanied by Sally Bailey, will present a special holiday performance of “Do They Know It’s Christmas (Feed the World)” and “We Are the World.” The College’s newest group, A cappella Ensemble, will also mark its debut under the direction of Bellamy.

Both concerts begin at 7 p.m. in the Bisgrove Theatre. They are free, and open to the public. However, the Music Department is asking people who attend to make a suggested donation of one can (non-perishable). The Music Club at the college will donate all proceeds to the Calvary Food Pantry CNY Inc., located in Auburn.
