Christmas With Nuncrackers

OSWEGO, NY – The Oswego Players are rehearsing a Christmas treat for local audiences.

Directed by Inez Manor Parker, this show is a holiday continuation of the very popular “Nunsense” musicals written by Dan Groggin.

Parker has been an extremely busy lady this summer, beginning with “You’re a Good Man Charlie Brown” in June, “Play-On” at the Church of the Resurrection this month and on to “Nuncrackers” for December.

Abel Searor, who handled the music direction for “Charlie Brown” is again on board for “Nuncrackers.”

Laurel Artz will be choreographing the dance numbers.

If you have never seen a “Nunsense” show, a review written by Gail M. Burns in May 2005 alludes to the fact that critics hate “Nunsense” shows.

However, “these shows are completely critic-proof.  Critics hate ’em and audiences love ‘em.”

If you are a fan, the show features new songs including “12 Days Prior to Christmas” and “Santa Ain’t Comin’ to Our House,” which piqued my interest.

The show is filled with “Nunsense” humor and some of your favorite carols.

The cast includes Molly Brown, Dan Williams, Tammy Wilkinson, Beth DeRosie, Donna Brown, Matthew Spaulding, Bree McIntosh and Taylor M. Hamer.

The show is slated to go up in the Frances Marion Brown theatre in the Fort Ontario Arts Center Dec. 3, 4, 10 and 11 at 8 p.m., with a matinee on Dec. 12 at 2 p.m.

All tickets for this musical offering will be $10.

Reservations will be accepted at the Players’ Box Office (315) 343-5138. missing or outdated ad config
