Director Troy Pepper Leads the Oswego Players Production of ‘The Christmas Spirit’

The Oswego Players latest production, Frederick Stroppel’s dramatic comedy ‘The Christmas Spirit’. will be led by three time director Troy Pepper. Mr. Pepper directed a number of Player’s productions since becoming involved with the organization including Noel Coward’s Blithe Spirit, and last year’s well thought of version of ‘Born Yesterday’ ‘ I like to bring back the old classic plays, that haven’t been seen for awhile,’ Mr. Pepper stated recently. ‘Sometimes, older is better particularly in comedy.’

Mr. Pepper began his theater career in high school appearing in a number of shows. He continued his participation while attending Damon College in Buffalo, working back stage on several productions. Since returning to Oswego Troy has appeared in quite a few local shows including ‘Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dream Coat’, as Jacob, ‘The Bad Seed’, as the murdered maintenance man, Jessup, and in ‘The MBH’. He has also directed the one act play ‘The Death of the Chase Manhattan Bank’.

The Oswego Players production of ‘The Christmas Spirit features a cast of Oswego Players regulars and newcomers including Scott Bandla, Connie Brozenich, Bobby Fontana, Matt Lamphere, Jim McGann, Amanda Mosher, Richard Mosher, Beverly Murtha, and Anne Raynor.

Troy Pepper is assisted in this production by stage manager Chandler Caroccio. Set design is by Ken Snow and Norman Berlin Jr. Costume design is by Kelly Mosher. Light design is by Richard Mosher.

‘The Christmas Spirit’ is slated to be presented on November 7, 8, 14, 15, at 8 p.m. and November 16 at 2 p.m. All performances will be held at the Frances Marion Brown Theater, in Oswego. Tickets are $10 for adults, $8 for Seniors and $7 for Students. Reservations can be made by calling the Oswego Players box office at 343-5138 or tickets can be purchased in person at the Downtown Box Office located in the Discover Oswego Shop in the Canal Commons in Downtown Oswego. Credit cards are accepted at this location only. ‘The Christmas Spirit’ is presented by special arrangement with Samuel French Inc.
