PULASKI, NY – The Salmon River Fine Arts Center (SRFAC) is again participating in the annual “Light Up Pulaski” event on Sunday, December 8, 2024. Kids of all ages are welcome to come to the arts center at 4848 North Jefferson Street, Pulaski, from 10:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. There will be art instructors and volunteers available to guide you and your family in painting, coloring, and embellishing wood ornaments of various shapes for the holidays.
In addition to the art project for that day, visitors can sip some complementary cocoa or cider and enjoy the current art exhibits and handmade items from local artists. The members’ show is currently on display with a special “Homelessness in America” exhibit by Craig Anderson– a “must see.” In the members gallery you will find various items that can be purchased including acrylic, oil, alcohol ink, and watercolor paintings as well as pottery, jewelry, artisanal wood projects, and more. There is also a display with holiday ornaments of all types, media, sizes, and colors for sale.
The Salmon River Fine Arts Center invites you and your family to make ornaments, do some shopping, and enjoy some refreshments to kick off your holiday celebrations. The pottery team at the arts center has even made some special mugs, steins, and crocks especially for the “Light Up Pulaski” event. You will find vessels with beautiful glaze patterns that will make thoughtful, one-of-a-kind gifts that will be truly appreciated by recipients. You may want to purchase one for yourself as well!
The arts center also proudly provides classes for all ages including the popular Richard S. Shineman Young Artist Experience (YAE) classes. The YAE program offers a variety of themed art sessions for elementary, as well as middle and high school students. Costs for four-week sessions are only $5-20 per student in a “pay what you wish” mode and free scholarships are also available for those struggling financially. Space is limited, so early online registration is encouraged.
The arts center also provides a variety of adult classes, many of which are open to teens, including pottery, glass on glass and mosaic, watercolor and acrylic painting, drawing, and much more. A complete schedule of classes is posted on our website: https://salmonriverfineartscenter.com/.
