OSWEGO – Oswego Music Hall continues its Open Mic Friday series on November 1. Show begins at 7:00 PM; sign-ups at 6:30.

Guest Host, Bob Raymonda, leads off Open Mic Friday and will be followed by performers who sign up that night. Doors open at 6:30 with sign-ups taking place then and throughout the evening, as space allows. Musicians typically play three songs each.

All ages and experience levels are welcome. Budding performers, singer-songwriters and musicians of all genres are given an opportunity to perform in a supportive environment using cutting edge professional sound and lighting equipment.

Bob is a singer songwriter who started writing songs back when he was the lead singer for the rockabilly band Haywire. The band gained some notoriety locally and actually played live on Daniel Dunn’s radio show, Homegrown, which aired on WSCP back in the late 80’s. Bob started playing solo a few years ago after a lengthy hiatus from music. He is a prolific songwriter who writes primarily in a folk and country music style. A semi-retired graphic designer and illustrator, Bob turned his creative attention to writing as a way to help deal with his lifelong struggle with depression. Many, but not all, of his songs are about that struggle and the effects that mental illness and alcoholism have had on him and his family since he was a child. Despite his struggles, Bob finds humor in many situations and his story songs reflect his unique sense of humor and the brighter side of life.

Scheduling guest hosts for Open Mic Fridays is Coordinator Bryan Dickenson. Open Mics are held on the Friday night prior to Saturday’s National Stage concert.

The following evening, November 2, Carsie Blanton will appear on the Main Stage at 7:30pm. Visit https://www.carsieblanton.com for further information.
