OSWEGO – Oswego Music Hall continues its Open Mic Friday series on Friday, October 9. Show begins at 7:00 PM; sign-ups at 6:30.
Guest Host, Rich Hart, leads off Open Mic Friday and will be followed by performers who sign up that night. Doors open at 6:30 with sign-ups taking place then and throughout the evening, as space allows. Musicians typically play three songs each.
All ages and experience levels are welcome. Budding performers, singer-songwriters and musicians of all genres are given an opportunity to perform in a supportive environment using cutting edge professional sound and lighting equipment.

Scheduling guest hosts for Open Mic Fridays is Coordinator Bryan Dickenson. Open Mics are usually held on the Friday night prior to Saturday’s National Stage concert. Oswego Music Hall welcomes the following Guest Hosts for the Fall/Winter season: “Big D” Dave Schneider (Oct. 23), Taylor Ricks (Nov. 6), Bill DeMott (Nov. 20), Tim Nekritz (Dec. 4), and Bryan Dickenson (Dec. 10).
On October 10, Oswego Music Hall welcomes Spencer LaJoye, with Special Guest Sweet Petunia, appearing on the Main Stage. The show will begin at 7:30; doors open at 7pm.
With a crystalline voice, a multi-instrumentalist’s command of harmony, and a virtuosic mastery of the loop pedal, LaJoye is a one-human tour-de-force, winning ears and hearts everywhere they go. LaJoye won the Kerrville New Folk singer/songwriter contest in 2021, and the Songwriter Serenade contest in 2024. Mairead Guy (they/them) and Maddy Simpson (she/her) are Sweet Petunia and they have been nominated twice by the Boston Music Awards for Best Folk Act and have performed at music festivals including Between Days and Nice, a Fest. The duo has hit the ground running, supporting Ani DiFranco and Billy Bragg on tour in 2026 and earning an official showcase at AmericanaFest 2026. The wheelchair accessible venue is located in the McCrobie Civic Center, on 41 Lake Street in Oswego. It is adjacent to Breitbeck Park and overlooks Lake Ontario and the Oswego Harbor.The atmosphere is intimate with candle-lit tables surrounding a small stage with lightrefreshments available. Tickets purchased at the door and refreshments are cash or check only.
Oswego Music Hall is a family-friendly, non-profit organization that has been run entirely by volunteers since its inception in 1977. Volunteers can earn admission to shows through various tasks — from running the sound board to making popcorn. Students can also earn credit forcommunity service.
