OSWEGO – Harborfest officials today thanked Constellation Energy for its significant support of the 2025 festival and for its partnership in a creative idea to reduce the use of plastic water bottles at the event.

Constellation teamed up with fellow sponsor Novelis to offer free water to festival attendees in a more sustainable way than using and disposing of plastic bottles. Novelis provided reusable aluminum cups while Constellation provided water dispensers. The water station provided the equivalent of 3,800 bottles of water.

Constellation also provided The Radioactive Banana Stand, handing out nearly 2,000 free bananas to make the point that one banana contains more radiation than a person will absorb in a year of living next to a nuclear power plant.

“Constellation has been a steadfast partner to Harborfest and a friend to every festival visitor. This year’s effort helped attendees to have a better experience and is a testament to their creativity and commitment. They have our grateful thanks,” said Dan Harrington, Harborfest Executive Director.

Harborfest 2026 will take place July 23 – 26.
