Hollywood Comes To Fulton

FULTON – ‘Dis The Season, a brand new play by television writers Juliet and Keith Giglio, makes its world premiere next weekend at the CNY Arts Center. The husband and wife duo are no strangers to writing holiday favorites, together having authored several popular gems for the silver screen, such Reba McEntire’s Christmas In Tune, Dear Christmas (starring Melissa Joan Hart), and Disney’s Return to the Halloweentown. Their latest venture is a full-length play about four estranged sisters who must spend Christmas together in order to collect an inheritance. The play has been described as both a “joyous celebration of the season” and a “hilarious sleigh ride through the travails of sisterhood.”

“Christmas stories are somewhat like romantic comedies, and that’s what we love to write,” says Juliet Aires Giglio. “And we’ve had so much fun together writing this play. I’m a huge Christmas aficionado, I go way overboard at Christmas!”

“‘It’s ultimately about those old childhood rivalries resurfacing,” says Keith Giglio, “and the sisters must learn to become a family and love unconditionally… or lose each other forever. ”

“What an incredible early Christmas present for our community!” says CNY Arts Center Executive Director Bonnie McClellan. “It’s not every day you get two seasoned screenwriters debuting an original work right here in Fulton, New York. Who knows where this show will go from here… Broadway? TV? The big screen? That’s why you have to see this production, so you can see how a holiday classic began right in your very own neighborhood.”

‘Dis The Season debuts at the CNY Arts Center (121 Cayuga Street, Fulton, NY) on Thursday, December 4th at 7pm. Subsequent performances are Friday, December 5th and Saturday, December 6th at 7pm, and on Sunday, December 7th at 2pm. Tickets are moving fast, so early reservations are strongly encouraged. Reserve seats at www.cnyartscenter.com/tickets or at 315-598-2787. Christmas cookies and egg nog, amongst other concessions, will be for sale in the lobby before the show and during intermission.
