Liam Fitzpatrick To Play In ‘Mame’

The “Syracuse Invasion” has reached the Oswego Players Frances Marion Brown stage.  Two of the female leads, Moe Harrington (Mame) and Rita Worlock (Gooch) are from the Syracuse area, as well as the adult Patrick Dennis, portrayed by Liam Fitzpatrick.

Fitzpatrick has grown up in the Syracuse community theatre since his first foray onto the stage in Salt City’s “Jesus Christ Superstar” in 1998 at age 7.

Since then he’s been part of more than 100 productions and is very excited to be part of “Mame!” He has recently been seen in Syracuse Opera’s “La Traviata” (Giuseppe),” Madama Butterfly” (Uncle Yakuside) and in the choruses of “Sweeney Todd” and “Carmina Burana.”

Other favorite productions include Larry in “Closer,” Violet Venable in “Savage Torpor” and Dancer/Celebrity in “The Sex Lives of Boring People” all for Standard Candle Company, Rapunzel’s Prince in “Into the Woods” for NATC and Chantal in Theatre First’s “La Cage Aux Folles.” He won the 2007 SALTY Award for playing Bill Sykes in “Oliver!” at West Genesee High School in Camillus.

Fitzpatrick attended Syracuse University’s Musical Theatre Program where he played Howie in “Rabbit Hole” and Louis De Rougement in “Shipwrecked!” at the 2010 Edinburgh Fringe Festival in Edinburgh, Scotland.

Coming up, Fitzpatrick will be debuting his first solo cabaret called “Sorry/Not Sorry” at CNY Playhouse on August 31st, as Gangster 1 in Theatre First’s “The Drowsy Chaperone” in October, directing “To The Chicago Abyss,” one of three one acts that make up Rarely Done Production’s “The World of Ray Bradbury” in November and is ecstatic to announce that he will be playing the role of Marius Pontmercy in Baldwinsville Theatre Guild’s, Les Miserables in January 2014.

Mame!” will run July 5, 6, 12 and 13 at 8 p.m.; with a July 14 matinee at 2 p.m.

Ticket price is $15 across the board.
