Local Authors Jim Fargalia & Tim Carroll Present a History of Lake Neatahwanda and the Recreation Park at the Oswego Public Library

OSWEGO – Join us at the Oswego Public Library on Saturday, April 25th, from 2:00 to 3:00 PM for a presentation by local authors Jim Farfaglia and Tim Carroll. They will share the history of Lake Neatahwanta and Recreation Park, along with their personal memories from growing up in Fulton in the 60s and 70s. As lifelong residents, they have teamed up to write a comprehensive history of these landmarks in their book, Hiding from the River.
Lake Neatahwanta has long been one of Fulton, New York’s beloved natural resources. While the Oswego River drove the city’s early economic success, Neatahwanta has always been a haven for those seeking respite and relaxation. Recreation Park, on the lake’s shore, has hosted sporting and community events for over 150 years. Farfaglia and Carroll compiled a history of these two landmarks from archival documents, maps, graphics, and memorable stories.
Books will be available for purchase and signing following the presentation.
The event will take place in the library’s community room on the lower level at 120 E 2nd Street, Oswego, NY 13126. Admission is free and open to all. For questions, please call 315-341-5867 or email [email protected].
