Matt Georgiades

OSWEGO – When the Theater Arts Youth Academy’s (TAYA) virtual production airs later this month, S.U.C.O. Senior Matt Georgiades will have worked behind the scenes as the Technical Director for the show.

Matt has agreed to intern by adding his many talents to enhance the overall look and feel of TAYA’s very first venture into the virtual tech world.

Matt G, as we call him, brings a whole host of credits with him with an outstanding recommendation from his advisor, Ola Kraszpulska, professor at S.U.C.O. Theater Department.  In addition to his participation in many of the most recent college productions like, The Fantasticks, Don Giovanni, and Kill Shakespeare, Matt has lent his talent to the Redhouse Performing Arts Center in Syracuse in, A Charlie Brown Christmas, La Cage aux Folles and was the Lighting and Sound Designer for the Young Voices Project.”

Collaborating with the college has become an important part of the Oswego Players over the years. It gives students an opportunity to put their time and talent to good use in a small intimate theater setting, and the OP gets the benefit of new ideas and sense of giving back to the community.

Matt has been working along side Norm Berlin, Director, the past few weeks designing backdrops and special effects for the production. And to make sure we reach a wide audience, Matt has connected TAYA up with Broadway On Demand, a specialized ticketing company that will handle all ticket purchases for the run of the special show. Unlike previous production time lines, this virtual production will be broadcast On Demand allowing viewers to watch any time during its run. And as an added bonus, once signed up, patrons can purchase other available productions as well.

“Do You Read Me” runs October 16, 17, 18, and 23, 24, 25 and is made possible through a grant with the Garrett Dunsmoor Foundation. Tickets are $10 per person. For more information and ticket purchase, log onto:  oswegoplayers.org
