Nickolas Viele to Give Free Gallery Talk in Oswego November 7

OSWEGO — The Art Association of Oswego will host a free gallery talk by sculptor and educator Nickolas Viele at noon Saturday, November 7, 2026. The talk is open to the public.

Viele will discuss his artwork and the motivation behind it, according to a release from the Art Association. His works are on display in the large upstairs Tim McHenry Gallery.

Viele holds a master’s degree in fine arts from the Rochester Institute of Technology and teaches at Monroe Community College.

His exhibition, Cured Castings, explores ideas or habits that people believe have become so hardened that ideology or new beliefs cannot change them. According to the release, Viele hopes his works will help people find avenues of communication that can break down these seemingly fixed behaviors and thoughts.

The gallery talk will include time for questions and discussion of these ideas.

The Art Association is located at 30 Barbara Donahue Drive, across the street from Fort Ontario at the north end of East Fourth Street. More information is available at oswegoarts.org.
