FULTON – The Hysterical Society wants to sell you a ticket to the Moon. The comedic minds behind The 1812 Underture inside Fort Ontario now bring you history’s greatest adventure in the comfort of an air-conditioned theater.

SPACE RACE is a hilarious reimagining of the Moon Landing, set to launch this summer. The play was first produced Off-Broadway in New York City to sold out crowds. To celebrate the 55th Anniversary of humanity’s conquest of the lunar surface, the newly-renovated CNY Arts Center is staging a special One Night Only production of this uproarious comedy. Thanks in part to the New York State Grants for Regional Arts and Culture Engagement Program, SPACE RACE promises death-defying special-effects and live musical accompaniment by Syracuse’s premiere surf rock trio: The Underwater Bosses.

“Unlike other astronomical events, a few clouds won’t ruin your viewing experience,” says writer-director Nicholas Gentile. “SPACE RACE promises daring thrills, raucous laughter, and strange new love in low-earth orbit. It’s history like you’ve never seen it before — with on-stage holograms!”

Tickets are nearly sold out, so it is strongly encouraged to reserve your seat now. SPACE RACE will be performed at 7:00pm on July 19th, 2024 at The Art Scene at CNY Community Arts Center, 121 Cayuga Street, Fulton, NY, 13069. Reservations can be made at www.cnyartscenter.com/spacerace
