OSWEGO – Oswego Harborfest is celebrating a highly successful 37th festival following four days of music, entertainment, family activities and waterfront experiences that drew an estimated 107,000 visitors to Oswego from Thursday, July 23 through Sunday, July 26.
The 2026 festival saw a substantial increase in attendance compared with 2025, when an estimated 84,700 people attended. This year’s estimated attendance represents an increase of approximately 22,300 visitors, or 26 percent, highlighting Harborfest’s continued growth as a major summer destination in Central New York.
The festival welcomed an estimated 10,000 visitors Thursday, 20,000 Friday, 65,000 Saturday and 12,000 Sunday.
For newly appointed Harborfest Executive Director Bridget Dolbear, the success of this year’s festival reflects the tremendous effort of the organization’s staff, board, committees, volunteers and community partners.
“The 2026 festival was an incredible celebration of everything that makes Oswego special,” said Dolbear. “Seeing families and visitors gathered along our beautiful waterfront to enjoy great music, food and fun was truly inspiring. The Oswego Harborfest staff, board of directors and committees put in tireless hours to make this the best Harborfest yet, and I am deeply thankful for their unwavering dedication.”
Dolbear said the festival’s success provides an exciting foundation for the future of Harborfest and its role in promoting Oswego as a destination.
“As I look ahead to next year, I’m excited to build on that momentum, drawing even more tourism to our city, showcasing our gorgeous city to regional visitors and locals alike, and creating unforgettable experiences on the lake,” Dolbear said.
National Headliners and Unforgettable Entertainment
Harborfest’s 2026 entertainment lineup delivered three major national recording artists to the Constellation Lakeview Stage at Novelis Breitbeck Park.
Legendary rocker John Waite kicked off the festival’s headline entertainment Thursday night, performing many of the iconic songs that have defined his four-decade career. On Friday, rising country star Lanie Gardner took the stage before chart-topping country artist Ashley Cooke closed out the evening.
The three headliners joined more than 30 live performances throughout the festival, with additional entertainment presented at East Park, Cahill Pier and other festival venues.
The festival also featured family entertainment, the carnival midway, food vendors, children’s activities, waterfront attractions and other experiences throughout the four-day celebration.
“John Waite, Lanie Garner and Ashley Cooke wowed the crowd at Breitbeck, ranking as some of the top headliner performances in the history of the Festival,” said Chuck Handley, President of the Harborfest Board. “The 2026 Festival ranks as one of the most successful Festivals in the 37-year history of the event.”
Grucci Fireworks Cap Spectacular Weekend
Saturday night’s Grucci Fireworks Spectacular once again provided Harborfest’s signature finale, lighting up the Lake Ontario waterfront as thousands gathered throughout Oswego to watch the display.
The 2026 show featured a special musical tribute celebrating America’s 250th anniversary, with the fireworks choreographed to music.
“The Grucci fireworks were absolutely spectacular and the music was synced perfectly with the fireworks,” Handley said.

Looking Ahead to 2027
With attendance continuing to grow and another successful festival in the books, Harborfest leadership is already looking toward the future.
“Our Social Media team kept us all informed and made the festival easy to navigate,” Handley said. “We are all looking forward to 2027.”
For Dolbear, the 2026 festival represents both a celebration of Harborfest’s history and an opportunity to build an even stronger future.
“I can’t wait for everyone to see the big things we have in store for next year,” Dolbear said.
