OSWEGO COUNTY – The Phoenix Central School District continues to earn national recognition for its strong roots in music tradition and years of dedication to musical education. For the 16th consecutive year, the district was named one of the “Best Communities for Music Education” by the National Association of Music Merchants (NAMM) Foundation.
This honor is given annually to school districts for the outstanding efforts by teachers, administrators, parents, students and community leaders and their support for music education as part of a well-rounded education for all children. Now in its 27th year, the award recognizes schools and districts nationwide for their leadership in expanding equitable access to music education.
“We take great pride in the achievements of our music program and wholeheartedly commend our dedicated staff and talented students, whose commitment and passion are the driving force behind the continued success of our music program,” said Jessica Ariola, PCSD’s Director of Curriculum.
PCSD was recognized as one of 1,008 school districts across the country to earn the distinction for 2026.
